Reverse engineered a precision stainless steel vibratory sorting bowl for pharmaceutical capsule orientation, restoring multi-track geometry into parametric CAD without existing 2D drawings.

An obsolete pharmaceutical packaging station required an identical duplicate vibratory sorting bowl, but original fabrication drawings were missing.
A single operational stainless steel bowl existed on the factory floor with hand-ground spiral tracks and orientation gates that could not be replicated through manual measurement.
Capturing complex variable-pitch ascending spiral tracks with sanitary radius tolerances under 50 microns.
High-density non-contact optical 3D scanning followed by feature-based parametric CAD solid extraction.
Scanned using precision blue-light metrology; extracted helical trajectories, wall thicknesses, and mounting bolt circles in Solid Edge.
Modeled continuous curvature track surfaces with uniform wall thickness and verified parting lines for direct 5-axis CNC re-machining.
Fully parametric native 3D CAD model and ASME Y14.5 manufacturing drawings enabling identical replication.
Repeatable manufacturing drawing pack delivered with zero disruption to active packaging line.
